eli

I am humbled by Eli. If you haven't read this story in a while, I encourage to look at I Samuel again. Samuel receives a revelation from the Lord concerning Eli and Eli says: " let me have it... don't hold back anything."

Samuel then says: " God is going to judge you because of how you have raised your sons..."

Eli's response: " It is the Lord; let Him do what seems good to Him." "

I am troubled by this passage and at the same time I admire Eli's response. Can you say that about your situation today:

"It is the Lord; let Him do what seems good to Him."

update March 16

Today's mercies are for today's troubles.

" Part of saving faith is the assurance that you will have faith tomorrow."

" Trusting Christ today includes trusting Him to give you tomorrow's trust when tomorrow comes. Often we feel today like our reservoir of strength is not going to last for another day. The fact is, it won't. Today's resources are for today and part of those resources is the confidence that new resources will be given tomorrow. "
